Faux Leather Journals 1

The next set of coptic stitched books I decided to go with is a leather series. This one will consist on 6; a perfect amount that i can actually get done without getting bored! So, here are the first couple of steps:
So i began to cut out the cover pieces out of the pile of cardboard boxes i had been hoarding. based on the thickness of these common cardboard boxes i decided to cut 3 pieces for each cover. Glued these sets of 3 pieces together and then proceeded to cut out craft foam to the size of the covers. These are the blue and green pieces.
Glued the craft foam to the cardboard pieces...only to one side...
went on to choose some faux leather pieces for the covers...cut them down to the desired size. big enough to fold back nicely...
sandwiched cardboard and craft foam below...
Next came gluing the faux leather pieces to the craft foam side of the covers...let that dry and continue by cutting off the corners...
Next came gluing and folding back the tabs using super glue on some and tacky glue on others...

and now i have my lovely covers nice and a bit spongy!
